The Compliance Program of EHS supports the university’s mission of research, teaching and service by providing compliance based program management for research and food safety.
The goal of the Food Safety is to provide a full service permitting and inspection program for these areas to ensure all Greek Houses as well as any other Student Organizations offering food products for sale and/or on-site consumption are operating in accordance with the rules, regulations and guidelines established by the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH). Research Safety includes all of the safety programs that focus on protecting research activities at The University of Alabama. While research is the main focus, these programs also serve the entire campus by providing guidance on the proper handling of chemicals and biological materials, as well as controlling the physical hazards posed by a wide variety of equipment and processes.
