Tim began with the University in February 2008 as a Fire Alarm Technician and was promoted to Fire Safety Manager in 2018. He came to UA after several years as an electrician, much of that time he spent installing fire alarm equipment, including UA’s Recreation Center in 2003-2004.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervisor of Fire Safety Unit
  • Conduct plans reviews for all construction projects impacting fire safety
  • Maintenance and testing of fire alarm systems and network
  • Manage inspection database
  • Coordinate periodic tests with other department’s interfacing equipment, e.g. Mass Notification, Elevators and HVAC
  • Schedule annual inspections with building representatives
  • Conduct fire drills


  • NICET Level III in Fire Protection Engineering Technology for Fire Alarm Systems
  • NFPA National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code
  • FOA Fiber Optics Specialist/Tester
  • NFPA Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of fire alarm systems
  • ASHI Bloodborne Pathogens, CPR and First Aid
