Sustainability is guiding principle of many EHS programs. Sustainability creates and maintains the conditions under which people and nature can exist in harmony in the present and for future generations. The three major areas which EHS can positively affect sustainability efforts are:

  • Working to reduce levels of pollution and greenhouse gases.
  • Working to manage, protect, and restore water sources and ecosystems through sustainable management of material resources.
  • Promoting the use of environmentally cleaner materials, reducing waste and chemical contamination.

Environmental stewardship is one of the major management characteristics of EHS. Sustainability is a part of this stewardship. For more information contact EHS.
