There are a number of special hazard suppression systems located on campus. These systems can operate automatically through the activation of initiation devices. These devices often monitor the environmental conditions of the protected equipment or space. Some of the special hazard suppression systems on campus are located at Gordon Palmer, Shelby, AIME, The Book Storage Facility, Campus Support Services, Ridgecrest South and Bidgood. These suppression systems are inspected and maintained routinely as recommended by NFPA. EHS coordinates the inspection and maintenance of these systems. For more information on special hazard fire suppression systems, please contact EHS directly at 205-348-5905. Below is a contact list of those responsible for maintaining the kitchen suppression systems on campus.
