Environmental Health and Safety provides fume hood training online, but in-person training is available upon request. Please contact the Laboratory Safety Manager to coordinate in-person training using the request form below.
Chemical fume hoods are a vital piece of lab equipment. When used properly these ventilation devices will minimize exposure to hazardous or toxic fumes, vapors or dust, as well as injuries or damage due to explosion, implosion, spills, etc.
The Office of Environmental Health and Safety provides an in person fume hood safety training course. If chemical fume hoods are utilized in your laboratory work, please consult your supervisor and/or Principal Investigator as this training course may be required prior to equipment usage.
