Smoke Detection Bypass Requests should be submitted at least 24 hours prior to the time requested for the bypass. For requests submitted within 24 hours of the desired time for bypass, contact EHS at 205-348-0496.

Please complete this form for any requests related to temporary bypassing of smoke detection for:

use of fog/haze machines inside UA buildings
construction activities with the potential for creating fine particulates inside UA buildings

To ensure requests are completed in time, the form should be submitted at least two business days in advance. Most events involving fog/haze machines should also be submitted on the Source, and should include planned effects to be used. For any questions, please call 205-348-0496.

Please note that fog machines are not allowed inside residential dormitories or Greek housing facilities.
